Getting in shape includes a variety of conditioning techniques that’ll significantly empower the mechanics in combat sports. From the speed that triggers, to the power of impact, the mind only becomes as strong as the conditioning that tests your might. This includes strength training, resistance training, and cardiovascular exercise.
Strength training in combat sports, focuses on fast-interval training and compounds lifts. The constant explosive reps develop a thickening in the muscle that improves controlled motor skills, protect bone to bone contact, and practices the power of striking. With compounds lifts, it serves as a multi-mechanic movement that’ll help develop a stronger formation to implement power. With the array of constant contact within the sport, strength training is a much needed technique that’ll help lift your win in a fighting bout.
Resistance and Cardiovascular training come hand to hand in combat sports. Specifically, the most used equipment, resistance bands are implemented to train the motion against your gravity. Developing a resistance force against your motions creates a tension within the muscle, allowing for you to train at a more explosive higher degree of force. With the constant repetitions of resistant training this ties in with the cardiovascular output that’s high in intensity. With the constant tension and exhausting output within a round, resistance training and cardiovascular training can drastically decide you or your opponents condition in winning a fight.
